FAQs

Everything you need to know before we meet.

Booking a tour should be the easiest part of your holiday. We’ve answered the most common questions below so you can skip the stress and start looking forward to the stories, the views, and the hidden corners of our hometown.

1. Are the City Walls entrance tickets included in the tour price?

That's a great question, and we believe in being completely transparent about it. Entrance tickets for the City Walls are purchased separately from our tour.

Think of us as your personal storytellers and local friends, and the City Walls as a magnificent open-air museum. As a small, local tour operator, we focus all our energy on what we do best: giving you an unforgettable, personal tour experience with our expert guides. We don't handle ticket sales for city-run attractions.

Here’s the wonderful part: when you purchase your ticket (40 EUR or with the Dubrovnik Pass), every cent goes directly to the Society of Friends of Dubrovnik Antiquities. This means your contribution is actively helping to maintain, restore, and preserve these incredible fortifications for generations to come. You're not just buying a ticket; you're becoming a guardian of Dubrovnik's history. And we think that's a beautiful thing.

2. I’m worried about getting lost. Where exactly do we meet?

Finding us is easy! We'll always send a confirmation email with a Google Maps link, but here’s a quick guide. Just look for the friendly face holding our signature red-and-white flag!

For Old Town & City Walls Tours: We'll meet you by the mighty Revelin Fort (at the Ploče Gate entrance). Find us in the corner of the square by the old cannon that overlooks the harbour. It’s the perfect spot to begin our journey.

For Legends & Curiosities, Game of Thrones, Dubrovnik Now & Then, and Essential Dubrovnik Tours: Your story begins at Pile Square. We meet by the charming fountain featuring a sculpture of a lovely lady—you can't miss it!

For the Minčeta Tower Secret Tunnels Tour: Let's meet at the Stone Oasis, a tiny, tranquil park halfway up Celestina Medovića street. Your guide will be waiting inside.

For the Street Stories Tour: We’ll gather just inside Buža Gate, at the top of the vibrant Boškovićeva street, right by the little water fountain.

All our meeting points are chosen for your convenience, with public transport and restrooms nearby.

3. Can I just show up, or should I book ahead?

We love spontaneity! However, we highly recommend booking your spot in advance.

Our tours are intimate by design—we keep our groups to just eight guests to ensure you have a personal and engaging experience. Because of this, they often sell out! Booking online is the only way to guarantee your place.

That said, if you're in the area and feeling lucky, you are more than welcome to check for last-minute availability at the meeting point. If there’s room, we’d love for you to join! You can pay on the spot with cash or a card.

4. Is it customary to tip the guide?

Please don't feel obligated in any way. Tipping is entirely at your discretion. Our guides are paid for their work, but if you feel they gave you an exceptional experience and truly brought Dubrovnik to life, a tip is a wonderful way to say "thank you." It’s a welcome high-five for a job well done. You can tip with cash or use our guides' app for a digital tip.

5. Are your tours available all year?

Yes, we love showing off Dubrovnik's magic in every season! Nearly all our tours run year-round. The only exception is our Minčeta Tower Secret Tunnels Tour, which is available from March 1st to November 30th. For the most current schedule, just check the specific tour page on our website.

6. Will I be stuck in a massive crowd of 30 people?

Absolutely not. We hate those "follow the umbrella" tours as much as you do. All our tours are strictly private or small-group. It’s just you, your family/friends, and your guide. You get to ask questions, stop for photos whenever you like, and actually hear the stories without a headset.

7. Will there be bathroom breaks during the tour?

Our 2-hour shared group tours are a whirlwind of stories and sights, so to make the most of our time together, we don't have scheduled restroom stops. We highly recommend using the public facilities near our meeting points before we start.

If you've booked a private tour, however, we have more flexibility! Just let your guide know, and they will be happy to accommodate a quick break.

8. What if my plans change or something unforeseen happens? What's your cancellation policy?

We get it—travel plans can be unpredictable. Our policy is simple:

Cancel up to 24 hours before your tour for a full, no-fuss refund. You can do this easily via the "Cancel Booking" button in your confirmation email. Cancellations made within that 24-hour window are non-refundable. In case of a genuine, last-minute emergency, please contact us. We handle these on a case-by-case basis and will always try to be fair and understanding.

9. Oh no, I'm running late! What should I do?

Deep breath! We've all been there. Please try to arrive at the meeting point about 10 minutes early to get settled.

If you're running late, give us a call. We offer a 5-minute grace period because we know things happen. However, out of respect for the other guests who arrived on time, the tour will have to start after that.

Once the tour begins, it's very difficult to find the group, and trying to join midway can disrupt the experience for everyone else.

But don't worry, you may have an option! If you booked through our website, send us an email with your booking reference. We can often reschedule your tour for another day, subject to availability. There is a small, one-time fee of 5 EUR to cover the admin of making the switch, payable on the day of your new tour.

10. I’ve heard Dubrovnik has a lot of stairs. Is it too much walking for me?

Dubrovnik is a city of stone and stairs, but we are experts at finding the "flat" routes. On our private tours, we move at your pace. If you need to sit for a coffee or take a break, we do it. We can customize the path on our private tours to suit anyone from small kids to seniors.

11. What happens if the weather is bad? Do you cancel?

A little rain won't stop the history! We'll try to find some indoor spots, hidden churches or covered walkways to explore. However, if the weather is truly dangerous (like extreme thunderstorm), we will contact you to reschedule or offer a full refund.

12. Why should I book a local guide instead of just using a guidebook?

A guidebook can tell you when the walls were built, but it can't tell you what it was like to grow up inside them. We share the "secret" Dubrovnik—the best places to eat (that aren't tourist traps), the local legends, and the modern life of the people who actually live here. You aren't just buying a guided walking tour; you're buying an "insider's" shortcut to the city.

Ready to skip the crowds?

No massive groups. No boring scripts. Just you and a local expert discovering the hidden corners of Dubrovnik.

Still unsure? Send us a message and we'll help you find the perfect tour.
