Times are harsh now with the corona virus threatening to set back the pre-season tourist numbers and we, as well as many other companies in the tour and activity sector, are really feeling it. One way to bounce back and tackle these challenging times is to turn to domestic visitors. It's sad that most average Croatian families rarely can afford a vacation in Dubrovnik, which is, sometimes unjustly, described as a rather expensive city.
We understand that our domestic tourists do not have the same buying power as the majority of our western European and overseas guests do, but there are ways to enjoy Dubrovnik without having to spend a fortune! That's where the Croatian national tourist board's campaign called "Tjedan odmora vrijedan", or, roughly translated, "A week worthy of vacation!" comes in - it's designed to entice Croatian travellers to discover their own country, its islands, coastal towns, hills and fertile plains.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism the Croatian national tourist board called upon the businesses working in the field of tourism, from the small startups to the big hotel chains. The idea is to offer a discount to their services, be it accommodation, transport, or, in our case - walking tours. A little good will goes a long way, and by offering a 50% discount on our Old Town Tour, we also hope that we'll see some Croatians on our tours and that our guides will get a chance to give the tour in Croatian, which they rarely do!
The tour is the same as described on the official Old Town Tour page. It takes ninety minutes and you'll get to discover the main sights and learn about the history of Dubrovnik in a small-group setting for just 75 kunas per person! Easter is great for visiting Dubrovnik - it's not hot, it's not crowded and yes, it is cheaper than high season. So, dear friends, we look forward to seeing you in Dubrovnik on our Old Town Tour! Support the "Tjedan Odmora Vrijedan - A week worthy of vacation!" campaign and see you soon!
